According to Fairfield County Weekly, “It’s a party as soon as you walk in, gushes Thirsty Turtle events coordinator Alexis Tedone. And what a party atmosphere it is. The front bar area, designated as the ’70s room, has neon streamers criss-crossing the ceiling, glittery disco signs, and, natch, a disco ball over the front door. Meander to the back room and you’ll find a stage and open dance floor–and a resolutely ’80s motif; a side room dubbed the Leopard Room, is decorated in a ’90s motif. And that’s just the upstairs. Below deck you’ll find couches, recliners, sand pits and beach chairs for your lounging pleasure. And every area has its own bar. Did we mention that? Year-round, the Turtle offers two DJs (one upstairs and one down) spinning dance tunes every Friday and Saturday. And there’s always some special event to draw people in: winter luau parties, Christmas in July, summer ski parties, like that. It’s no wonder the Turtle’s the most popular dance spot around, even if turtles themselves aren’t much for the disco moves.”
